Wraparound IT security protects legal firm, Heseltine, Bray & Welsh from cyber-attacks
Heseltine, Bray and Welsh is a Property and Wills solicitor, based in Barnsley. They do not have any internal IT resource and outsource all of their IT support to Conformedia.
As with all legal firms, a major requirement is to have completely reliable and secure IT systems. The ability to store, retrieve and share documents securely, whilst protecting clients’ personal and financial information is fundamental.
Conformedia has provided a complete IT service to Heseltine, Bray and Welsh, including helpdesk support, IT infrastructure, networking and system integration with cloud based legal case management software Ochresoft Intelliworks for many years.
IT security is at the heart of all IT decisions. Following a scoping exercise to ascertain the best solution for the client, Conformedia installed Sophos synchronised security XG Firewall with Intercept X antivirus, a comprehensive synchronised security system to project the firm from cyber-attacks and malware. An extra level of security was added with device encryption to further improve data security and GDPR compliancy.
Security was further bolstered by adding Cisco Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across all internal and external authentication mechanisms. Now, users logging into their desktops/laptops require another layer of authentication provided by Duo.

Software updates are managed centrally and installed remotely by the Conformedia team. Deployment is unobtrusive and does not interrupt day to day business at the busy law firm. By centrally managing all security and updates the office staff rest assured that they their work is always protected to the highest levels.
When the firm expanded into the premises next door, Conformedia prepared all the IT infrastructure in advance of the move, cabling was laid, and the network configured to accept the new hardware, allowing the users to just move in, plug in their computers and continue working.
